The Shroud Man, a unique sculpture
The Man of the Shroud is a sculpture created by Sergio Rodella, based on the image of the Shroud. It is a three-dimensional icon of Christ, which, through the method of linen wrapping, is shown to be consistent with the Shroud.
Many artists have sought to depict and represent as truthfully and closely as possible the image of the Man contained within it. For many, however, this was primarily an artistic endeavor, while others, using the means available to them, delved into more precise studies—though not always aligned with the discoveries made today.

Faith, Art, and Science: The Man of the Shroud
From imprint to form. This is the creative process that engaged Sergio Rodella for over two years. The image of the Shroud served as the factual basis from which the artist's artistic and scientific journey began. Measurements, distances, and proportions were carefully acquired and then transformed from a two-dimensional plane into a three-dimensional space.

Faith, Art, and Science The Man of the Shroud and the Christ of Hope
The Man of the Shroud, together with The Christ of Hope by Master Albano Poli, are two works in synergy, each offering a different approach to drawing closer to the Paschal Mystery. These sculptures will be on display at the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona starting April 15.
